Emergency Needs
Planned support for unplanned events.
A deliberately small, deliberately accountable fund for urgent needs our partner reports and confirms.
This describes how we intend to handle emergencies once giving activity supports it. It is not a rapid-response operation already running today, and we will not describe it as one.
Why this matters
Resilience is part of care.
- Small organisations are most fragile when something unexpected happens.
- Waiting for a normal funding cycle can turn a manageable problem into a crisis.
- An emergency fund only works if it is spent carefully and reported afterwards.
- Urgency is not a reason to skip documentation — it is a reason to be clearer about it.
What this support provides
The kinds of need this covers.
- Unplanned costs our partner reports as urgent and confirms in writing
- Short-term gaps in food, water or housing caused by a sudden change
- Urgent medical costs that cannot wait for a normal cycle
- Recovery costs after a weather event, theft or damage to the home
Our intended process: the partner reports the need in writing, we confirm the specifics, funds are released against the stated purpose, and receipts or written confirmation are requested afterwards. Any emergency release will be reported alongside our regular updates.
