Donation Policy

What we will and won't promise about your gift.

Plain terms for how gifts are processed, designated, acknowledged, and reviewed — with no guarantees we cannot back up.

Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution unless otherwise stated.

How gifts are processed

Gifts are processed on a secure hosted checkout operated by our payment processor. Jordan River Charity never sees or stores your card or bank details. You may give once or monthly, and you may designate your gift to a specific fund.

Tax status

Jordan River Charity is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not offer tax advice; please consult your own tax professional about your particular situation.

Payment confirmations and charitable acknowledgments

After a gift you receive a payment confirmation from our processor. A payment confirmation is proof of the transaction, not a full charitable acknowledgment. A formal written acknowledgment containing our legal name, EIN, the date and amount of the gift, and a goods-and-services statement is being implemented; until that process is in place, contact us if you need a written acknowledgment for a specific gift. No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution unless otherwise stated.

Designated gifts

Our intent is that gifts marked for a specific fund — food, water, education, clothing, medical care, discipleship, emergency needs — are applied to that purpose. JRC is adopting and will publish a formal policy for how restricted or designated gifts are handled when a stated need is fully funded or can no longer be carried out. Designations are recorded with each gift.

Monthly giving

Monthly gifts recur until they are stopped. There is no self-service cancellation page on this site yet, so monthly donors may contact Jordan River Charity to request a change or cancellation and we will process it. We will not promise instant or automated cancellation until that tool actually exists.

Refunds

We do not advertise a refund guarantee. If a gift was made in error or a duplicate charge occurred, contact us and we will review the request in good faith with our processor. A written refund policy will be published on this page as it is adopted.

How funds are intended to move

Gifts are intended to be transferred to our field partner, Anikana Foundation (partner code UG-ANIKANA) in Jinja / Buwenge, Uganda, with written confirmation retained. This is our target standard; see Transparency for what is actually in place today. We do not claim that 100% of gifts reach programs, and we do not guarantee specific outcomes or support of a named child.
