Keep Children in School
Learning that isn't interrupted.
Fees, supplies and the small required items that decide whether a child stays in the classroom.
Education support is unglamorous and specific: a term's fees, a set of exercise books, a uniform that fits. Our aim is to help our partner cover those costs reliably, and then to publish the invoices and fee schedules behind them rather than a persuasive number we made up.
Why this matters
Small gaps interrupt whole years.
- When fees go unpaid, a child is usually sent home mid-term and can fall behind quickly.
- Missing basics like exercise books or a required uniform can keep a willing student out of class.
- Re-enrolling after a long gap is harder than staying enrolled in the first place.
- Education is a long, ordinary investment — steady term-by-term support matters more than one-off gestures.
What this support provides
The actual line items.
- School fees for the term, paid to the school rather than in cash
- Basic supplies: exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets
- Textbooks and reading materials where the school requires them
- Uniforms and required school shoes, where our partner confirms these are actually provided
- Examination and administrative school charges, where documented on an invoice
- Other education costs only when supported by a receipt or fee schedule
Uniforms and examination charges are listed here as categories we can support. We will only report them as provided once our partner supplies documentation showing that they were.
Costs
What does school actually cost?
Our verified costs
Jordan River Charity / Anikana Foundation figures taken only from receipts, invoices, bills, written quotations or partner records we hold.
Local cost verification in progress.
We are collecting school invoices, published fee schedules, supply receipts and partner records. Until those are reviewed, we will not publish a per-term or per-child school cost. When verified records exist, this section will show school fees per term, supplies per child, uniforms where applicable, total education spending, and the number of children whose education is being supported — each with its reporting period and a clear label showing whether it is an actual JRC or partner expense.
