Nabeel’s Story
Because of gender-based violence in his family, Nabeel was abandoned and left in the care of his grandmother. She was elderly and struggled to care for him, and she later died. With no relatives willing or able to take responsibility for him, Nabeel was left without stable parental care at a very young age. Anikana Foundation welcomed him into its care, and he now regards Mama Anikana as his mother.
