Mawanda

Mawanda never had the opportunity to know his father, who died before he was born. His mother, who was living with HIV, faced severe hardship and was eventually forced to leave home, while Mawanda remained with his grandmother. His grandmother worked hard despite her age and poverty, but over time her health declined and she could no longer provide adequately for both herself and Mawanda. Mawanda was forced into child labor, and one day he was involved in an accident that left him with an eye problem. His mother never returned and was later reported to have died. Anikana Foundation stepped in to support Mawanda and provide ongoing care.
