Achelo’s Story
Achelo’s mother is living with HIV and has faced significant discrimination and social isolation. With Achelo’s father absent, the family struggled to obtain enough food and meet basic needs. Achelo was also being sent to work at a young age, placing her at greater risk. Anikana Foundation counseled her mother and, with her agreement, brought Achelo into its care to provide greater safety and stability.
